School Sharing (1): Promoting Self-Directed Learning in STEAM Education through Artificial Intelligence (POE)
St Francis' Canossian College shared that, with support from the IN-STEAM program, they implemented a self-directed STEAM learning project in its Secondary 1 IT classes. Students focused on designing and creating products that enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. Using the design thinking process as a Disciplinary Practice and Self-directed learning as a Pedagogical Approach, AI learning elements were integrated. This STEAM curriculum enhanced students' creativity, self-directed learning abilities, and collaboration skills, leading to awards in events organized by the CITE of the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Education.

School Sharing (2): Sustaining Pedagogical Innovation in AI-Integrated STEAM Education by Building an Architecture for Learning
Caritas Fanling Chan Chun Ha Secondary School shared how they use adopt the learning design theory to design and implement a self-directed learning STEAM curriculum, which incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) teaching and learning elements. In this curriculum, secondary 3 students begin with an authentic experience—empathizing with the daily challenges faced by visually impaired individuals. More importantly, the school also shared strategies for sustaining and spreading educational innovation by designing their Architecture for Learning. This involves continuous refinement of interaction mechanisms among school personnel, sharing and managing learning artefacts etc, thereby perpetuating educational innovation and nurturing students’ 21st century skills.
